The Problem Solvers.

Today was very successful, even after Connor and I were away from the previous 2 weeks. We were getting the girls to participate in everything and ended up with a wonderful large tree. We also had many trees produced by the girls. It was after that we found that one of girls had made a bridge and it was perfect. We had a quick snack with a bit of basketball, and we were off to it again. Connor and the girls made a lake, troll fingers and loads more while I was stuck with the very boring job of drawing the black line that the robot has to follow. After I had finished my very long job we found a robot with the right programming and sent off on the big journey(the track). We found some corner mistakes and problem solved like taking candy from a baby. Soon we hit another dilemma, we found that the robot would not follow the line on the bridge, due to the different colour of the cardboard. We instantly found a solution, and that was to put white tape down the sides of the black line, making the robot go over it with ease. But before we knew our session was over and that was to be our last time we would be over at Bethlehem School for the term.

Today at Bethlehem School was very different from last Thursday. In the sense of behavior and bonding. Biking there was a bit of a challenge as it took a very long time, but we eventually got there. When we first got there we were kind of curious of what was going to be ahead of us. First off  we met up with our partners and got started with the task of getting them to program the NXT robot, using the laptop software rather than programming it on the NXT. The aim was to get the robot from one blue line to the other, with sound effects when it gets there. Both girls were successful in completing this goal and now know how to get it to go forwards. After that we had a light break and refreshed our minds with a bit of basketball with our teacher. Refreshed and ready, we got stuck into the challenge of the day, the challenge was to get around two milk bottles by doing it as a figure of eight. This challenge was not completed due to the lack of time. We swapped what we were doing with the other group and changed to constructing our forest floor, we created it with little difficulty as our girls were very creative. We left on a good note but unfortunately we will not be attending next Thursday as we will be attending a basketball tournament. But we are sure they can rough it out on their own.

First Day

Well today was pretty cool. Some of the things we need to work on next week is how treat our peers and making sure everyone gets included. But we did every thing successfully, i.e [the challenge and the blog account]. Cant wait till next week!
